Why do I need an Anti-Glare Filter? In the beginning, as they say, most people start to use office computers on a limited basis. Over several months, as their confidence and abilities improve, the applications become more and more encompassing. After a short time, what started out as a few moments periodically throughout the day, became hours and hours. In the beginning, people found that their eyes could easily tolerate short periods of time in front of a monitor. However, as their demands to use their computer increased, they often found the increased usage to cause eye strain and increased eye stress. |
What about mesh-style anti-glare filters? We've been supplying these optic quality anti-glare filters for over 10 years. Our customers had first bought those hideous black nylon "mesh" style filters to reduce glare ... but found they made the image worse! So when they changed to an "optic-quality " anti-glare filter, well, they found what they were looking for. (The carbon mesh used for the air traffic control monitors is the best material to eliminate glare - but not recommended for business and home use.) |
Is it made of glass? No, it's made from a very thin sheet of Poli-Cristal™ and as such, bends to conform to the edge of a computer monitor. Also, it is clearer than glass, in fact, binoculars, cameras and eyeglasses are made from a similar material. |
The front of my computer is curved; how does this affect mounting it? This anti-glare filter is about 1/16" thin - so it can easily bend and adhere to your monitor. The double-sided adhesive mounting tape is adhered to the inside full perimeter, not just at the corners, so that the filter is efficiently held in place. |
How can I clean the dust that gets in behind the filter? Unlike other methods of suspending or mounting other anti-glare filters, dust is unable to get in behind the filter ... a real bonus not to have to clean there. |
I dropped a glass anti-glare filter once - it shattered everywhere. Is this the same? The Poli-Cristal™ material is extremely lightweight and does not crack or break when dropped. It resists scratches as well ... so tapping your pen onto the anti-glare filter won't hurt or scratch it. In fact, even writing onto the filter won't scratch it! |
What other anti-glare filters are there? There are a lot of materials and varieties of anti-glare filters for computer monitors. Making a decision is hard to do.
